Description

The Great Lakes Acquisition Center is seeking qualified Architectural/Engineering firms that are CVE verified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business or Veteran Owned Small Business to provide design service to Renovate 15th Floor, Bldg. #200 at the Edward Hines Jr VA Hospital, Hines, Illinois. Design will includes but is not limited to, preparation of drawings, specifications and cost estimates for all facets of work and trades necessary to facilitate award of a construction contract in order to completely renovate the 15th Floor of Building 200, a 21,243 square foot floor on the Hines VA Campus. The construction work involved may contain, but is not limited to, removal of all interior walls and systems, construction of new interiors, new HVAC system, exterior renovation, and new data and phone systems and associated intercom/pager systems. Asbestos and Lead Based Paint abatement is also a part of this project. This contracted work will require the A/E firm to attend all meetings with shops, contractors, and hospital staff as directed by the COTR. The contractor shall furnish a complete design package to include plans, architectural, structural, views, details, sections, elevations, shop drawings, working drawings, edited specifications, site visits, and related information as required by the contract. Provide a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) report, include input into the specifications, and provide Asbestos Abatement Final Report with a cost estimate if it is deemed that there is contamination to be abated. The contractor shall be solely responsible for the management and professional design, including all associated labor, equipment, materials, mailing costs, and inspection, to meet the requirements of the contract. The Engineering firm must be located within a 150 miles radius of the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital, Hines Illinois. The 150 mile radius will be determined using the following website: http://www.freemaptools.com/raius-around-point.htm. Prospective firms are reminded that as per FAR 52.219-14: By submission of an offer and execution of a contract, the Offeror/Contractor agrees that in performance of the contract in the case of a contract for- (1) Services (except construction). at least 50 percent of the cost of contract performance incurred for personnel shall be expended for employees of the concern. The A/E firm shall be registered in CCR and CVE verified in VetBiz. Area of consideration is limited to a 150 mile radius of the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital, Hines Illinois. Interested firms should provide the following information: 1) SDVOSB or VOSB CVE Verification; 2) short narrative on company to include as a minimum: a) number of years as an A/E firm; b) short narrative on how firm plans to accommodate site visits; 3) a detailed description (including size, scope, and dollar value of the firm's experience with similar projects; 4) name and address of your firm; 5) DUNS Number; and 6) name and phone number of a point of contact in case further information is needed. All information received in response to the RFI that is marked as proprietary will be handled accordingly. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this request for information.
