- Training Classrooms Upgrade Program (TCUP) This is a Sources Sought/Request for Information only. This is not a Solicitation Announcement, nor is it a Request for Proposal. This request does not obligate the government in any contract award. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, is conducting preliminary research to determine the market capabilities of potential contractors to support projects in the category of "Training Classrooms Upgrades" within the South Atlantic Division boundaries to include North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and Alabama. This includes Major renovation of 1960/70s era educational facilities to meet code and academics standards, including demolition and abatement of hazardous materials at Fort Gordon, GA. Provide Design/Build modifications that will have a 25 year useful life before needing major renovation or replacement in accordance with design standards for General Instruction Buildings (GIB), Army Continuing Education System Facilities, and applicable codes. Provide a complete repair of failed and failing Systems. Design and Provide Electrical, communications, HVAC, and information systems infrastructure that supports computer based and distance learning in the 21st Century. Renovation and design of supporting facilities to include; water and sewer, electrical, gas, and lighting. Work will include demolition, painting, plumbing, electrical and HVAC rehabilitation, and replacement of installed equipment. All Fire Alarm and Mass Notification Systems will be compatible with the present post system. All HVAC Controls will be 100 percent compatible with existing UMCS system to allow central control and monitoring. All facilities will connect to Ft Gordon's Central Energy Plant for High Temp and Chilled Water for heating and cooling. Repair by replacement of failing roofs with standing seam metal roof. Comprehensive and Structural Interior Design packages (CID/SID) are required for the facility. Site Improvements will correct drainage, erosion, and repair of vegetative covers with Low Impact Design (LID). The estimated magnitude for upcoming projects is very wide - from $20M to $30M. PRIMARY LOCATION OF WORK: TCUP - Work will be primarily performed at Ft Gordon; however, work may also be performed at other Federal Facilities located within the geographic boundaries of the US Army Corps of Engineers South Atlantic Division. All interested firms with 236220 as an approved NAICS code have until March 25, 2011 at 2:00pm EST to submit the following information: - Name & Address of your Firm - Point of Contact (name/phone/email) - Business Size, to include designation as HUBZone, 8(a), Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, Woman-Owned Business, and large business. [If an 8(a) Small Business, your firm must have an office in Region IV (GA, AL, NC, TN, MS, FL, KY, SC)] - Bonding capability-both single and aggregate, as evidenced by submission of Surety Company letter stating bonding capacity - Evidence of capabilities to perform comparable work in the area of Training Classrooms on three recent projects (not more than five years old). Include the project name and description of the key/salient features of the project (i.e., square footage, multi-story, secure facility, phased renovation, etc.), completion date, total contract construction value, whether it was design-build or construction only, and your company's level of involvement in the project. Please provide at least one point of contact (with email address and phone number) for project validation. - Firm's capability to perform, to include geographic span and project size. Include firm's in-house capability to execute design and construction, or established relationship with a design firm to perform D-B.
