Description
The Morale, Welfare, Recreation and Business Operations Division, operating under the Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps and in support of the Marine Corps Community Services, has a requirement for a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC), to be procured by contract and not under a personnel hire. The Marine Corps will NOT reimburse costs relative to placement of the contract, to include personnel/placement fees, expenses and travel related to job interviews, or relocation expenses. Qualifications for ratings at the highest evaluation level are as follows: a. Possess and maintain certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Trainers' Association (NATA) Board of Certification (provide a copy of certification with expiration date). b. Possess and maintain certification as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) (provide a copy of certification with expiration date). c. Possession of current certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). d. Possess and maintain current certification in CPR and AED for the Professional Rescuer (provide a copy of certification with expiration date). e. Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience within the preceding 36 months as an athletic trainer with collegiate athletes (NCAA Div. I and/or II) with 70% of experience covering sports with high risk (ex boxing, football and wrestling), professional athletes, or military operations personnel. f. Possess experience with Windows-based computer systems of at least 12 months within the preceding 36 months. g. Possess experience with computerized injury tracking programs. The Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) will provide medical coverage- prevention, evaluation and treatment of injuries- for the USMC Boxing Team. The program is based in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. The contractor shall be available for nationwide/worldwide travel with one week s advance notice. Within thirty days of receipt of a contract, the contractor shall, at his/her own expense, obtain a valid U.S. passport and immunizations as required for travel as needed to Marine Corps installations overseas in Okinawa and Japan. Travel to U.S. Marine Corps installations in Iraq and Afghanistan is not anticipated under this contract. Contractor must be a U.S. citizen and capable of oral/written communications in the English language. Payment will be billable monthly, upon completion of services for that month. This is a fast-paced purchase; a Request for Proposal (RFP) is expected to be issued on/about Monday, March 21, 2011, and proposals will be due the following Friday, March 25, 2011.
