Description
MEDVAMC Renovation of SPD Scope Washer Room Solicitation Number: VA25611RP0310 Request for Information 1) Does AH-2 have MERV 14 (90%) final filters? Washer room requires MERV 14 filters. YOUR SITE INVESTIGATION WILL DETERMINE THIS. 2) A) Will the 48 wide by 36 deep Advantage unit fit through a 36 door opening? B) Will the doors into the Scope Rm. require being larger than 36 ? THE DRAWING IS CONCEPUAL, THIS IS A DESIGN BUILD PROJECT ALL DOORS DESIGNED NEED TO ACCOMMODATE EQUIPMENT, ETC. 3) Will the Advantage units have the optional compressor kit or will compressed air to be piped to each unit? REFER TO THE MANUFACTURE CUT SHEETS. 4) A. Are Air and Vacuum required to be provided at the work sinks? REFER TO EQUIPMENTS REQUIREMENTS. B. If yes, at how many locations? 5) Is the existing flooring an epoxy paint to be removed prior to the VA required resin floor installation? FOLLOW MANUFACTURE SPECIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS. 6) Do existing walls have a concrete curb for receiving the integral base? YOUR SITE INVESTIGATION WILL DETERMINE THIS. 7) Should we plan for a second push button for the entry door automatic operator (one for each corridor access direction)? REFER TO DESIGN BUILD PACKAGE. 8) Does the clean scopes storage require a floor drain? THIS IS A DESIGN BUILD PACKAGE. 9) Does the advantage plus washers come with the optional air compressors kits installed or will there need to lab air supplied from another source. REFER TO DESIGN BUILD SCOPE OF WORK. 10) Will floor sinks be acceptable for the discharge of multiple washers into one location.(We would like to install a total of four floor sinks one on every wall and one in the island area). THIS IS A DESIGN BUILD PROJECT REFER TO THE DESIGN GUIDE. 11) There appears to a Mask Washer on the plans we were unable to find a cut sheet with the required utilities. REQUIRED A 120 GFIC. 12) Is any of the equipment in the Scope Wash Room or Office Area required to be on a dedicated circuit? REFER TO THE MANUFACTURE CUT SHEETS AND VA DESIGN BUILD REQUIREMENTS. 13) Is any of the equipment in the Scope Wash Room or Office Area required to be on emergency power circuit? REFER TO DESIGN GUIDE. 14) Is compressed air and/or vacuum required for any of the equipment in the Scope Wash Room? REFER TO ANSWER 9. 15) Does the new use of the space require that any of the existing and new walls be fire rated? THIS IS A DESIGN BUILD PROJECT, THIS SHOULD BE DETERMINED DURING THE SITE INVESTIGATION.. 16) The Owner intends to reuses some existing equipment. Will there be a need for Phasing the relocation of the existing equipment? Can all the equipment be relocated at one time or will a few pieces be allowed to be relocated at a time? YES, TO BE DETERMINED ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE NEEDS. 17) Will all documentation and fire protection engineer qualifications listed in the current VA fire protection manual be required in the design and construction of the fire protection (sprinkler & alarm) systems? REFER TO FIRE CODE REVIEW OF DELEGATED CONSTRUCTION PROJECT. 18) Will fire sprinkler calculations be required for the construction area? SEE ANSWER 17. 19) What areas of the Hospital, in addition to the construction area, will require to be included in the fire alarm acceptance testing? NO OTHER AREAS ARE AFFECTED. 20) The Scope Wash Rm. requires 100% special exhaust w/ 10 air changes per hour. Will this require a dedicated exhaust or can it tie into the existing exhaust system? REFER TO THE VA DESIGN GUIDE. 21) The Electrical Scope list a requirement for plug mold for general purpose power GFI as required. Is this for use in the Scope Wash Rm or the Office Area or both? USE FOR SCOPE WASHER ROOM. 22) The Communications Scope requires us to Provide data drops for endoscope washers. A) Will these data drops connect to a central computer ? B) If yes, where is the central computer to be located, (inside the Scope Wash Rm or elsewhere)? THE CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITY IS TO PROVIDE TELECOMMUNICATION DROPS BACK TO DATA CABINET (PATCH PANEL). 23.Can the VA Provide a copy of the submittal product data of AHU 1 and 2 that service the area to be revised? A.Submittal data not available. 24.Can we add final filtration to the existing AH-2 that currently serves the future Scope Wash space? A.This is design build. 25.Please confirm that the room Air Change Rate will be designed at 10 ACH rather than 6 ACH. VA standards call for 6 ACH minimum, and the space to be negative. A.VA design guideplates = 10 per hour 26.Verify ceilings are proposed to be 9 in the Scope Wash room. Ceiling height will dictate final airflow required. A.Ceilings are 9 in endoscope washing room. 27.What plumbing will the two (2) Medivators DSD-201 Reprocessors require? A.The site requirements are on the PDFs. 28.What plumbing will the CS Medical TD 100 Disinfector require? A.The site requirements are on the PDFs. 29.What is the Mask Wash and will it require plumbing, if so what plumbing will be required? A.The site requirements are on the PDFs. 30.It appears they want four (4) stainless steel sins, will these be freestanding type sinks, drop in/counter top type sinks, etc.? A.The site requirements are on the PDFs. 31.What vacuum piping will be required, size and how many outlets? A. The site requirements are on the PDFs. 32.Will the two (2) existing floor drains remain or will we be required to demolish these? A.There is only one existing drain, add addition drains if required. 33. Will phasing of equipment from one location to new area be required? A. Yes, there are extra washers stored in the warehouse, so they will be installed first. This will decrease the down time for the washers that are located in room BB-220D. 34. Two Stainless steel counters are shown on the Scope Washer Room. What type is required? A.These stainless steel counters are to be design build and to match existing type in the room BB-220D. 35.Optional to add 10 ton air handling unit complete and inclusive of all electrical, controls, ductwork, and installation if required to meet 10 ACH as required in VA Guideplates. 36.March 30, 2011 at 10 am bid due date. 37.Another site visit is open for March 29, 2011 for one last viewing of the areas.
