Description
The Rock Island District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is seeking qualified businesses that can provide the services that meet the Summary of Work below in the event of a flood emergency within the Rock Island District. NO AWARD will be made from this Sources Sought Notice. Particularly, the purpose of this NOTICE is to gain knowledge of potential sources that have the ability to provide quality products and services, often with little notice and lead time in the event of a flood emergency. This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. SCOPE OF WORK: Emergency Splash Board Construction The contractor shall clear the existing levee crown of trees, brush, fencing, or any other obstructions. After clearing, the contractor shall cut a small trench in the crown. The contractor shall then construct the facing and supports that make up the emergency splash boards. The facing shall be constructed of sheets of plywood or 2x10 or 2x12 planks. The facing shall be wrapped in plastic sheeting and set in the trench. The facing shall be supported by 2x4 posts and braces. The posts shall be embedded into the existing levee a minimum of two feet. The facing, posts and braces shall be connected using screws or nails. After the construction of the emergency splash boards is complete, the contractor shall provide and place sandbags a minimum of 75% of the protected height on the protected side of the facing and a single row of sandbags at the base of the unprotected side of the facing. SUBMISSION DETAILS: All interested, responsive and responsible contractors are encouraged to participate in this market research. Participants should submit a Statement of Capability (SOC) illustrating the product/service available as stated in the summary of work. Interested contractors must be registered in Central Contractor Registration, www.ccr.gov. Email submissions are required. Please include the following information in your response: - Company name, address, email, phone number, CCR cage code, and point of contact. - If available, a 24/7 Point of Contact to include phone number and email. This is NOT a request for proposals or quotes.
