Description
RFI The U.S Customs and Border Protection (CBP) is seeking industry feedback regarding best practices and methodologies for performing Information Technology (IT) infrastructure network cable installation and maintenance services. This work includes facility cabling, including site survey, installation, testing, diagnosing and maintenance of data, voice, video, tactical communications (TACCOM), telecommunications systems and other wireless IEEE 802.1x infrastructure (WLAN). The infrastructure being provided will support data, voice, video, and TACCOM throughout the United States, U.S. Territories and Internationally. This will include cabling and equipment installation and repair at geographically dispersed CBP locations - new and existing - domestic and abroad. This effort may include remote locations, foreign locations, historical locations, government-owned and government-leased buildings, and other limited-access facilities. Part of the effort includes the use of various LAN and WAN cabling backbone topologies, domestic and abroad, with limited turn around times. This Request for Information (RFI) is to gather information to assist CBP in formulating its requirements, and identify qualified vendors who are able to meet the Agency's need. CBP is particularly interested in hearing from industry and related experts about successful models, proven methodologies, and best practices for providing support in accordance with the scope outlined in Attachment #1. See Attached RFI...
