- Description
- The contractor shall work with the project chief and project members by providing scientific, technical and statistical assistance in evaluating, extending, and developing methodology being used and developed for assessment of unconventional and remote oil and gas resources and by developing algorithms for probabilistic analysis of relationships between resources volumes and costs in various assessment units and provinces. Work Requirements A. Technical requirements. The job requires (1) a thorough understanding of petroleum resource assessment methodology of various type as used by the U.S. Geological Survey in Alaska, the 48 contiguous states, and the world; (2) an advanced knowledge (Ph.D. level of higher) of probability and statistics, as applied to geological resource issues, (3) a broad background in basic statistical approaches and methods, and (4) a strong record of publication, professional presentation, and experience that demonstrates these technical requirements are satisfied.
