Description
The United States Geological Survey (USGS), Western Research Drilling Operation (WRDO) under the California Water Science Center, has requirements for various well drilling and well installation materials, including grout, sand, PVC pipes and fittings, and bentonite mud. The USGS plans to establish indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract(s) to a single or multiple sources. This contract will be for five (5) years. The Government anticipates award of a commercial, Firm-Fixed Price type contract using the procedures of FAR 13.5 and the procedures of FAR Part 12, entitled, "Acquisition of Commercial Items." Since most drilling sites are in the southwestern United States, mainly California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona, the USGS plans to will call these items at the vendors facility most of the time. As a result, this requirement is restricted to firms with physical presence (distribution yards) in these areas. The Request for Quotation (RFQ), number G11PS00383, will be made available through the Government-wide Point of Entry (GPE), in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 5.102(a)(1), on or about 09 May 2011. The Government anticipates award of one or more commercial, Firm-Fixed Price type contracts. All firms must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at www.ccr.gov, as well as, the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) to be considered for award. Please contact the Contracting Officer, in writing, by email at sklingler@usgs.gov, with any questions. This requirement is set-aside for small businesses. The items under this acquisition cover several North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes and each line item will be set aside accordingly. As such the NAICS codes are as follows and contractors may propose on any or all of the line items. 212325 Clay and Ceramic Refractory Minerals Mining and the Size Standard is 500 employees.326122 Plastics Pipe and Pipe Fitting Manufacturing and the Size Standard is 500 employees.325998 All other Miscellaneous Chemical Products and Preparation Manufacturing is 500 employees.423840 Industrial Supplies Merchant Wholesalers is 100 employees.
