Description
Marine Corp Air Station (MCAS) Iwakuni requires contractor support responding to petroleum spills on-land at MCAS Iwakuni and in the surrounding waters of MCAS Iwakuni. Contractor shall be capable of responding to and cleaning up petroleum spills ranging in size from 500 gallons of diesel or jet fuel up to the volume of a worst case spill. Worst case spills could be from either direct release of up to 1.5 million gallons of jet fuel into the sea during ship to shore fuel transfer or from failure of an above ground storage tank resulting in the release of up to 4.3 million gallons of jet fuel onto the land and potentially into the harbor waters. Contractor shall respond 24 hours a day/365 days a year which include ANY Japanese Holidays. Contractor shall have sufficient resources to contain and clean up a spill of up to 2,000 gallons of diesel or jet fuel mobilized and en route within two hours of notification. Contractor shall have sufficient resources on site to contain and clean up a worst case spill within 60 hours of notification. Contractor shall provide all resources necessary to contain and clean up the spill to include, but not be limited to: ships, personnel, spill boom (oil fence), and dispersant. Contractor shall also provide adequate resources to store, transport, and dispose of recovered oil.
