Description
The United States Army CECOM Life Cycle Management Command (LCMC), Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, 21010, intends to solicit and award a five-year Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP)/Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee(CPFF), Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract, with an ordering ceiling of up to $71.42M, as a sole source action directed to BAE Systems, Electronics and Integrated Solutions (E&IS), 95 Canal Street, Nashua, New Hampshire 03061-0868, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 and 10 USC 2304(c)(1), One Responsible Source, for AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning System (CMWS) Aviation Kits (A-Kits) for US Army Fixed-Wing Aircraft, A-Kit installation, and engineering support services. These engineering support services may include trade studies, A-Kit design, design reviews and documentation, prototype installation, testing and sustainment, and logistic support (to include A-Kit installation, B-Kit installation, and testing on a fixed wing aircraft to allow Technical Manuals validation). The CMWS is a component of the Army's Suite of Infrared (IR) Countermeasures and is used to protect Department of Defense (DoD) helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. This system has been designed to address the increased threat from IR-guided Surface-to-Air Missiles. The CMWS identifies valid threat missiles while suppressing false alarms, audibly and visually warns the pilot, and cues an existing dispenser for release of a flare decoy. The A-Kit is unique to the type of aircraft and consists of racks, mounts, cables, connectors and anything required for the CMWS' line replaceable units (also known as the B-Kit) to operate on the aircraft. The assigned solicitation number is W15P7T-11-R-S002 the anticipated posting date for the solicitation is, 17 May 2011. The anticipated closing date is 16 May 2011.
