- Item Purchase Description for NSN 7930-01-423-1295 THIS IS NOT AN RFQ: Are you a distributor for this product? If yes, then what is your estimated unit price? NSN: 7930-01-423-1295 CLEANING COMPOUND, SOLVENT-DETERGENT : ZEP Manufacturing Company, BRAKE WASH AEROSOL, P/N 028701 or equal with the following requirements and characteristics: The cleaner shall be a non-chlorinated, aerosol, brake parts cleaner. The cleaner shall be formulated to remove asbestos dust, oil, grease, brake fluid, and other soils from brake parts. The product shall evaporate quickly, leaving no residue. It may be used on any type of brake equipment, assembled or disassembled: brake drums, wheel cylinders, master cylinders, disc pads, linings, return springs, power and vacuum assisted components, and all other metal brake parts. The material shall have the following characteristics and contain the materials in the quantities specified. Component CAS # Wt. % HEPTANE 142-82-5 80-90 ISOPROPYL ALCOHOL 67-63-0 5-15 METHANOL 67-56-1 <5 ETHANOL 64-17-5 1 - 10 CARBON DIOXIDE 124-38-9 <5 Boiling point - 93°C (199.4°F) Specific Gravity - 0.75 g/cc Vapor Pressure - 17.9 kPa (134 mmHg) (at 20°C) Unit of issue - BX (Twelve (12) each, twenty (20) ounce aerosol containers per box). Maximum age of delivery - Five (5) months from date of manufacture. Product conformance : The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this description, conform to the producer's own specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY : The item(s) shall be packaged and packed to afford adequate protection against physical damage during shipment from the supplier to the first receiving activity. The pack shall comply with the rules and regulations applicable to the mode of transportation. The package shall be the same as that normally provided by the supplier. In the event a pallet or skid is used for shipping, the following notice shall apply: Notice of special requirements for shipment to all countries that have endorsed the IPPC Guidelines for treatment of non-manufactured wood packaging : The International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) has approved and published on March 15, 2002, "Guidelines for Regulating Wood Packaging Material in International Trade". Countries endorsing the IPPC Guidelines are found at http://www.aphis.usda.gov/ppq/swp/. Additionally, shipments delivered to DOD distribution facilities or freight consolidation points for eventual delivery to or through EU/IPPC countries shall comply with applicable DLA Regulations and Procurement Letter PROCLTR 02-17.
