Description
Raytheon BBN teams Adaptive, Efficient, Trusted, Hardened Environmentally Robust(AETHER) Network provides a unique forward-looking approach to the creation of aninnovative F6 Information Architecture. Raytheons BBN team proposes a lightweightpublish-subscribe-query (PSQ) architecture that exploits the limitations of the F6environment (limited bandwidth and limited spaced-based storage). The result is anarchitecture that is radically clean with unprecedented ease of verification andvalidation (V&V), operations, maintenance, reliability, robustness, and future proofingyet is fully open source and ITAR free. The central concept of fractionated satellitesystems is that rather than launching a monolithic spacecraft, maximally packed withresources, we should launch a cluster of smaller satellites (modules), in which eachmodule carries few resources, and the modules share these resources over a wirelessnetwork to replicate and extend the services of a monolithic platform. The advantages ofa fractionated architecture include the ability to replace and enhance modules as well asto add new capabilities to the cluster.
