Description

The National Naval Medical Center (NNMC) Acquisition Management Department, Bethesda, MD on behalf of (Requesting Department) intends to award a sole source procurement to BIOSENSE WEBSTER, INC. FOR THE NAVISTAR THERMOCOOL CATHETER SYSTEM. THIS IS A URGENT/COMPELLING REQUIREMENT. The Cardiac Catherization Lab is a higly diverse clinical area dealing specifically with cardiac disease. To this extent it is imperative that supplies and equipment be kept in a steady state of readiness and replaced quickly as need arises. Speed in replenishing supplies is paramount when we exhaust an item from inventory and as such should be accomplished within a twenty four hour period. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive bids. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Award will be made using SAP.
