Description
The U.S. Geological Survey intends to make a non-competitive award to Seismic Micro-Technology, Inc. Houston, Texas to purchase new licenses and maintenance contracts from Seismic Micro-Technology (SMT) of Houston, Texas for Windows software to support interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic reflection profile data, geophysical well logs, and production data. This software will be used in numerous projects, including Geologic Carbon Sequestration, Assessment Alaska Petroleum Resources, Gulf of Mexico Framework and Petroleum Assessments, Appalachian Basin Framework and Petroleum Assessments, and Eastern Gas Shales. Services to be acquired include the maintenance: (1) Technical support of the software via telephone calls, facsimile transmissions, and email. (2) Correction of any software performance errors detected by USGS users and reported to vendors technical support system. (3) Upgrades, including new releases and revisions of the software that incorporate enhancements and error corrections. This service shall be provided for a period of 3 years, from May 17, 2011 through May 16, 2014, and shall be non-severable during that period of time. Seismic Micro-Technology, Inc. is the only known source for this requirement because no other sources are known to process the unique and essential qualifications because Seis Vision is deficient in many of the required features (license manager, shapefile and geotitt base map layers) and support for the product is being phased out. Loading data in SeisVision has proven problematic for USGS data sets. Seis Vision projects cannot be exchanged with the Kingdom Suite, which severely limits collaborative exchanges with other USGS offices and external collaborators. THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively IAW FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). Other interested concerns having the ability to furnish this item shall submit a capabilities statement to the Contract Specialist no later than the closing date of this announcement. FAX response to 703.648.7367 or email to: abenton@usgs.gov. All submissions will be evaluated to determine if competitive opportunities exist. The NAICS code is 811212 The anticipated award date of the contract is 05/27/2011. A vendor must be registered at http://www.ccr.gov to be awarded the contract.
