*PLEASE READ CAREFULLY* THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION OR AN ANNOUNCEMENT OF A SOLICITATION. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY FOR MARKET RESEARCH TO DETERMINE THE AVAILABILITY OF THE BRAND NAME COMPONENT, MONACO PA SYSTEM, OR INDUSTRY EQUIVALENT, AS DESCRIBED BELOW, TO CORRECT SOME DEFICIENCIES AND PROVIDE REPAIRS AND ENHANCEMENTS WITH THE EXISTING FIRE STATION PA SYSTEM FOR CANNON AFB NM. Only one source is capable of responding due to the unique or specialized nature of the work. Monaco Enterprises Inc. (MCI) is the sole supplier of the E-911, D-21 and associated dispatch equipment USAF wide. Their equipment is proprietary in nature. However, the purpose of this notification is to identify any vendors that can mirror the existing Monaco PA System. Any proprietary information should be so marked. In the event no EQUIVALENT equipment exists and the specialized nature of the work cannot be completed, the Brand Name Only justification will be issued pursuant to FAR Part 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source." Description of Work to be performed: Monaco PA System Evaluation and Upgrade: To perform a site survey to determine deficiencies, repair the deficiencies, and add enhancements within the Monaco PA system. The repairs and enhancements will include the following: • Perform on-site survey to finalize work required to add speaker service to 10 locations currently deemed underserved; and improve poor-quality broadcasts in truck bay area. • Install new speaker units (separate circuits) to enhance PA broadcast at Front area Restrooms, Deputy/Chief's Bedrooms; PPE Room, Logistics Storage Area, Mezzanine Storage, SCBA Room, and back of station generator area. • Replace horn-style speaker units in truck bay area with higher-fidelity box speaker units in the same locations as existing horn-style speakers. • Make adjustments to ambient noise compensator module and speaker amplifier serving the truck bay location to improve audio quality as much as possible. • Reprogram the Bogen PA system to include additional speaker circuits as space allows (assumed spare capacity available). • Make other adjustments to existing PA system to enhance audio output, where possible. • Test modified PA system with fire station representative • Provide two (2) hours of training to base maintenance and pertinent fire personnel on system operation, programming, and troubleshooting. • Be able to meet the deadline of 01 Jun 2011. The applicable NAICS Code is 334290 - Other Communications Equipment Manufacturing. Information Sought: 1. Please submit any information that would show your qualifications to handle this type of work. 7. Submission Information. Your submission must be clear, concise, and complete. Submission information is provided below. 8. Please provide GSA contract number if applicable as well. Responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the U.S. Government to form a binding contract or agreement. The AF will not be obligated to pursue any particular acquisition alternative as a result of this Sources Sought. Responses to the Sources Sought will not be returned. Not responding to this Sources Sought does not preclude participation in any future solicitation, if one is issued. Any vendor wishing to provide an EQUIVALENT supply and services that is compatible with the Description of Work to be performed as listed above must submit an interest letter that demonstrates your firm's ability to do so and rationale as to why they should be considered. Responses received will be evaluated and considered solely for determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. However, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. All interested vendors must respond by five (5) calendar days from date of issue NO LATER THAN 25 MAY 2011, 12:00PM EST to Ms. Tasha Aguilar at tasha.aguilar@cannon.af.mil.
