- This is a notice of intent to award a sole source requirement to the New Orleans Marriott in New Orleans, Louisiana for conference space, audio/visual requirements and catering services for a conference of approx. 600 attendees. Market Research did not identify any competitor in the area that could accommodate the days of the conference. The conference will take place from June 6, 2010 to June 10, 2010. For logistical reasons, the conference must take place at the same location where the attendees are being lodged. The conference is required to take place in New Orleans or the surrounding area. The New Orleans Marriot Hotel will not allow any other company to come in to provide catering or audio/visual services which also makes these aspects of the requirement sole source. This proposed contract action is for commercial services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals to be used for consideration of future requirements (the conference is generally held annually). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and an RFQ will not be issued, however, all proposals received by the closing date and time will be reviewed and used for future requirements. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any vendor who wishes to submit a proposal for future consideration should email their company's capabilities information to the attention of Nathan Briggs no later than 12:00 noon EDT, May 27, 2011 at nathan.briggs@dhs.gov. Only email responses will be accepted.
