Description
National Severe Storms Laboratory, on behalf of NOAA OER Operations, intends to negotiate, on a sole source basis, under authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), with Kongsberg Underwater Technology, Inc., for the purchase of a Kongsberg EK6-203322 split beam transceiver. The sole source determination is based on the uniqueness of the NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer. The current requirement is for a critical spare associated with the single beam sonar. Obtaining another product of similar features would require review and evaluation of the proposed equipment and would deplete any and all warranties of the current system. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation package is available.
