- Description
- The USDA, ARS, LSO intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source Biolog Inc., 21124 Cabot Blvd., Hayward, CA 94545 for an Omnilog Combo Plus trade up and GEN III database GN & GP. The unit must be able to qualitatively assess the identification of bacteria using biochemical methodology and be fully automated. The unit must be capable of performing phenotypical microarrays. The system upgrade includes the capability for doing phenotypic microarrays. Allows biochemical determination of bacterial genus and species for aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. Must be able to identify over 2000 species of fungi and bacteria. Upgrade must have 96 well plate identification using 95 different reactions based on 5 to 8 different carbon sources. Has a user defined incubation temperature setting along with incubation chamber. Has capacity for expanded user database. Fully automated reading of microplates and can perform gram positive and gram negative bacterial identification in one plate to cut costs. This procurement will be made pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(2) (C)(ii). No telephone inquiries will be accepted. Interested parties should submit written responses including prices and technical data sufficient to determine capability to meet the entire requirement and must be received in this office within 10 calendar days after publication of this notice. The government anticipates award of a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsive/responsible offeror whose offer conforms to the solicitation and is most price advantageous to the government. This acquisition is being conducted under the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The anticipated award date is June 17, 2011. Payment: Any award made under this solicitation is subject to 31 CFR Part 208 that requires all payments made by the government to be made by electronic funds transfer. Vendors may meet this requirement by acceptance of government purchase card or providing a Vendor Express Number. If a company has not previously enrolled in the Vendor Express Program with USDA, they should call the National Finance Center at 1-800-421-0323 for an enrollment package. All offers must include with their quotation a completed copy of FAR 52.212-3 available at www.arnet.gov/far.
