Description
The U.S. Geological Survey, Albuquerque Seismic Laboratory, Albuquerque, NM has a requirement for two low distortion waveform/timing pulse generators that are synchronized to GPS Universal Time Coordinated (UTC) time with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) traceability. These waveform generators will be used for testing seismic digitizers and seismometers in a laboratory setting. The minimum specifications for the waveform generators are as follows:1. Available waveforms (minimum): Sine wave, square wave, 2-tone sine wave, triangle, random telegraph, and white noise2. Frequency range (minimum) for periodic waveforms (sine, square, 2-tone sine, triangle): 1.E-4 Hz to 10 Hz3. Synchronization to UTC: Waveforms shall be within 10 microseconds of UTC minute and shall be synchronized to within 10 microseconds of UTC time with NIST traceability.4. Output (waveform): Fully differential, capable of at least 40 Volts peak-to-peak, 50 ohm output impedance or less. Amplitudes shall be adjustable in 6dB steps (or smaller steps) down to 1 Volt p-p or less. Output shall be capable of driving up to 50 mA peak. Total harmonic distortion (THD) at 1 Hz (sine wave) shall be -130 dB or lower. Waveform duration shall be capable of being set to at least 10,000 seconds.5. Output (time pulses): At least 1 pulse per second and 1 pulse per minute, 0-5 Volt level. Pulse width shall be at least 100 milliseconds. May be differential or single-ended. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this project is 334519; size standard: 500 employees. The supplies described herein are Commercial Items. The USGS is in search of small business firms who are able to supply the equipment identified above. Small businesses who feel that they can furnish the required supplies, meeting all the technical requirements stated above, are invited to submit in writing an affirmative response to this announcement. An affirmative response would include literature, brochures and such other materials, which correspond to the required supplies stated herein. This information will be evaluated and used to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Affirmative response shall be received by this office by close of business June 14, 2011 by 3:00 PM Mountain Standard Time. Please send affirmative responses to Melissa Hutchison at mhutchison@usgs.gov.
