Description
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Service (USDHHS)/ Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA)/ HIV/AIDS Bureau (HAB) has a need to award a contract for the following services: The Special Projects of National Significance (SPNS) Program advances knowledge and skills in the delivery of health and support serves to under-served populations diagnosed with HIV/AIDS. SPNS grants fund innovative models of care and support the development of effective delivery systems for HIV care. The SPNS Program is an integral link to all Ryan White HIV/AIDS programs; providing opportunities to develop new service models for the provision of HIV primary care and ancillary services while assessing the effectiveness of these models of care through evaluation. The original SPNS effort began in 1991 with some of the first Federal grants to target adolescents and women living with HIV. Today, a portfolio of more than 100 grants addresses emerging issues in the provision of HIV primary care and ancil¬lary services. The purpose of this procurement is to support the implementation of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program through guidance, education, technical assistance to grantees and developing the materials needed to effectively disseminate evidence-based interventions that, when implemented will facilitate the provision of quality care to people living with HIV. The services required for this contract, content remains a critical element and must reflect in-depth knowledge of the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Treatment Modernization Act and the latest clinical information on HIV/AIDS care and treatment issues. These products in combination with the capacity building assistance provide under this contract will help grantees establish and expand cost-effective and appropriate HIV/AIDS programs for their respective communities. A solicitation is anticipated to be posted on Monday, June 13, 2011.
