- The proposed contract action is for open market equipment and warranties for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. A proposal is being requested from Smiths Detection for open market items that are ancillary to equipment that is being purchased from Smiths Detection through a GSA task order. A written solicitation will not be issued for this requirement. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. Responses may only be sent via email to the contract specialist identified in this notice. Please note that this is only a notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, any information received within five (5) days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition (JOFOC) has been prepared and will be made public within 14 days following contract award. The specific authority cited for this acquisition is 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements". This requirement is not set-aside for small business concerns. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is 334511. Delivery is required within 30 days following receipt of the order at locations that will be announced to the contractor following contract award. Delivery of items under each SUBCLIN must be coordinated with the delivery of the equipment that is being purchased under the preceding referenced GSA task order.
