Description
This RFI is an effort to conduct market research for use in formulating a procurement plan/strategy to procure miscellaneous firearm supplies to support Precision Weapons Section, Weapons Training Battalion, Training and Education Command (TECOM), Marine Corps Base (MCB), Quantico, VA. This RFI allows potential contractors to submit a non-binding statement of interest and documentation demonstrating their corporate capabilities and suggestions that will allow the Government to refine its potential course of action. The RFI effort is intended to assess industry service capabilities and solicit feedback for acquisition planning purposes. The Regional Contracting Office, National Capital Region (RCO-NCR) is requesting responses from qualified businesses concerns. The qualifying NAICS code for this effort is 332994. The Machine Shop falls under the Precision Weapons Section, Weapons Training Battalion, Training and Education Command (TECOM), Marine Corps Base (MCB), Quantico, VA and is tasked with the responsibility for building/rebuilding or repairing military weapons. The Machine Shop supports numerous weapons platforms through the fabrication and modification of weapon components as well as, assistance in the building/rebuilding and repairing of the M45, M40A5, M39, M107, the MK11 and MK12, along with the supporting weapon systems used by the Marine Corps shooting team and the post and station teams for shooting matches throughout the Marine Corps. In addition they support the team ™s weapon platforms with research and development of future weapon systems. The Precision Weapons Branch, Weapons Training Battalion (WTBN) requires Contractor support with the capability to: (1) Provide micellaneous firearm supplies and tools for the building/rebuilding and repairing of weapons (such as the M45, M40A5, M39, M107, the MK11 and MK12), such as: Magazines; Trigger Weights; Blocks; Irons; Files and Sight Bases; Locking Recesses; Gages; Wrench Straps; Clamps; Wheels; Drill Bits; Magazine well inserts; Shop Aprons; Bench Blocks; Bushings; Dummy Rounds; B.O.N. Crystals Bleed-out Neutralizer; Bolt Disassembly Tools; Magna tips; Pad Vises; Pliers; Gages; Pins; Powers Sear Fixture; Punches; Reamers; Stones; Screw Checker; Taps; Wrenches, Flash suppressor nut; Armorers and Vice Blocks. (2) Provide timely turn-around of order delivery and have expedited delivery services. INSTRUCTIONS: Responses to this RFI shall not exceed 10 pages, including cover letter, discussion and contact information. Subject response must contain: (1) Capability statement sufficient to demonstrate delivery of the types of firearm supplies and tools related to the objectives stated above; (2) Current Commercial pricing for like or similar items (not included in page count); (3) Link to the respondent ™s General Services Administration (GSA) schedule, or attached file of same, if applicable; (4) Citation of any current or past customers (i.e., within the past two (2) years) to include contract number, point of contact telephone number or e-mail address; and (5) other material relevant to establishing core competencies of the firm. Please identify Large/Small Business size status along with a point of contact, phone number, fax number, e-mail address, business size, taxpayer identification number, DUNS Number, and CAGE Code. Response is due by noon, 30 June 2011. No solicitation documents exist at this time. The Marine Corps is neither seeking proposals nor accepting unsolicited proposals, and responses to this notice cannot be accepted as offers. Any information the vendor considers proprietary should be clearly marked as such. The U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI.
