- SUPPORT FOR A SERVICE LIFE EVALUATION OF THE AGM-65 SR114 MAVERICK MISSILE ROCKET MOTOR This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an Invitation for Bid (IFB), nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the government. The USAF is seeking potential contractors to support an AGM-65 Maverick Missile Aging Identification Study for SR114 (NSN: 1337-01-118-4657) Reduced Smoke Rocket Motors. The purpose of this contract is to support a Service Life Evaluation of the AGM-65 SR114 Maverick Rocket Motor. The AGM-65 Maverick Missile is a unique and aging weapon system requiring periodic testing to preclude catastrophic failure. The energetic missile components require periodic testing to identify aging trends and possible deterioration or instability of energetic materials. In completing this study, mechanical and chemical testing techniques will be applied to dissected rocket motors with predetermined age factors to predict probability of rocket motor failure. Results will be analyzed, service life quantified, updated, and a written report will be provided to the Government for analysis in establishing/verifying SR114 Service Life Estimate (SLE). A Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contract for the SR114 Rocket Motor Age Identification Study is being contemplated.
