- Description
- The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) Fort Detrick, Maryland intends to issue a sole source award utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures to R&D Scientific, 272 US Highway 206 Flanders, NJ 07836-9081 for installation and calibration of ten -40 to 60 deg C Datatron temperature probes to 8 incubators, 1 refrigerator and 1 freezer. The probes are necessary due to equipment shutting down with valuable items within their storage. The necessity of installing Datatron probes to monitor the fluctuation of the temperatures will assist Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) by inhibiting loss of valuable items, research and data for the mission within Malaria and Leishmania protocols. R&D Scientific has proprietary rights on the Datatron 3001 system that uses company passwords that allow for the calibration of the system. WRAIR previously installed the Datatron monitoring system for the entire institute and new pieces of laboratory equipment must be equipped with Datatron compatible probes in order to monitor temperature. This procurement shall be under other than full and open competition in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice is not a request for a competitive quote. No solicitation document is available for this notice. Any response to this notice must be submitted in writing to the Government and show clear and convincing evidence that another source is capable of meeting the Government's requirements and that competition of the requirement would be advantageous to the Government. A request for documentation will not be considered as an affirmative response. If no responses are received fifteen (15) days after the publication of this response, the purchase will be awarded as a sole source acquisition award without further notice. The Point of Contact (POC) for this action is brandon.m.roebuck@amedd.army.mil.
