Description

SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE The Erie VA Medical Center, 135 E 38th Street, Erie, PA 16504 is seeking potential sources capable of inspecting the hospital's ceiling lifts. The equipment that is currently being used, and that which the services will be performed, is: Device: Ceiling Mounted Patient Lift MFGR: Arjo Huntley Model#: MAXI SKY 600 The services to be performed are as follows. The Contractor will load test the track with the weight recommended by OSHA, which is 125% of the rated weight capacity of the lift that is on the track. During the load test the Contractor will verify the integrity of the support structure of the track, the interconnecting joints and the track end stops, will measure the deflection of the track during the load test and ensure that it is within the manufacturer's specifications. Any deficiencies found during the inspections will be corrected by the Contractor at the time of the inspection. Included in this contract will be any parts to repair the track and support structure and the cost of travel or zone charges. The Contractor will inform the Biomedical Engineering Contracting Officers Technical Representative (COTR) of any repairs being performed and must obtain approval before performing any service or using any parts, that are not covered under the contract. The Contractor will be responsible for the moving of beds in order to facilitate the track testing. The COTR will coordinate, with nursing, the movement of patients to make rooms available to the Contractor. Services will be performed between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, unless otherwise approved by the Biomedical Engineering COTR. The Contractor will confirm the date of the preventive maintenance inspection one (1) week prior to the date of the planned visit. The inspection will be scheduled to within 6 weeks after the award of the contract. This notice is not a request for proposals (RFP). Firms responding to this announcement should include company name, point of contact, address and indicate whether they are small business, 8(a) concern, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, or women-owned small business. The Government reserves the right to set-aside any subsequent acquisition based upon known sources and/or responses to this notice. This is a request for information/market research to provide data for planning purposes. This sources sought synopsis does not constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, invitation for bid nor does its issuance in any way restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition approach.
