Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 in conjunction with FAR Part 13.5, as applicable and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is 1091695. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-53, dated August 4, 2011. This acquisition is set aside for small businesses. The appropriate NAICS code for this acquisition is 333314 - Optical Instrument and Lens Manufacturing with a small business size standard of 500 employees. The purchase order awarded as a result of this RFQ shall be a firm fixed price. The FDA requires an eye tracking system that can track eye movement as users interact with medical devices. Eye tracking systems along with the associated software can quantitatively measure what users look at and how much time they spend looking at various controls and displays on a medical device. This information will be invaluable in performing a root cause analysis of use error and identifying opportunities for improved device design. The device must meet the following minimum specifications: 1. Shall be wireless; must communicate wirelessly with base station to remove any cables from the space the user will be working; 2. Shall be portable; Able to be used with a laptop and have a light head piece; 3. Transparency; No obstructions directly into the user's field of view; 4. Analysis; Software shall be able to identify areas of interest in multiple scenes (view points), allowing for additional areas to be selected when user moves their head Other: Type: Dark field, monocular system Accuracy: Equal to or greater than 1 degree Calibration: Before or after data capture External Triggering: Start and end of recording to be triggered by an external source such as a motion capture system. Award will be made to the lowest priced, technically acceptable offeror. Delivery will be to Silver Spring, MD, Zip code 20993. An offeror shall complete only paragraph (b) if applicable, of this provision if the offeror has completed the annual representations and certifications electronically at http://orca.bpn.gov.
