Description
SF 30 Continuation Page Question 1: It was my understanding from today that requirement (2) of the specifications requiring 'talk-back' is not required. Answer 1: Talk-back is not required. Question 2: What is exactly meant by requirement (4) Local BGM sourcing capability? Answer 2: There needs to be a point on the system to connect an external source for background music, like a stereo mini connection to plug in like an iPod into the system. Question 3: What does requirement (9) Pattern & Echo code calling refer to? Answer 3: Code calling is the ability to activate a series of chime tones over a signaling zone group, pattern is a factory set chime series in response to a single key pad pressed, and echo makes the chime based on two digit key pads pressed. Question 4: Do the 'recorded messages' need to be time based and/or event based (manually triggered)? Answer 4: They need to be both time based and triggered. Question 5: Who will provide the recorded messages? Answer 5: We will provide the messages but the vendor will need to provide the hardware to put them in the system. Question 6: As I understood it we arrived at 24 total zones? Answer 6: 24 zones initially with capability to expand in the future. Question 7: Do stairwells need to be covered? If so how often? If so what zoning? Answer 7: Yes all stairwells will be covered and they will one zone (Stairwell Zone) Question 8: Is all speakers and cabling to be new and all old to be removed? Answer 8: Yes that is correct Question 9: It is my understanding that a mic paging station is to be added to the RFQ in the PBX operator's room. Does the mic station need to be able to page 'zones' beside all call? Does it need to trigger messages? Answer 9: The mic will only need to be hooked up to do all call. It is going to only be used as a backup in case the PBX is down. Question 10: Who will provide the tiles to be replaced and what will the procedure for non-drop ceiling situations? Answer 10: The ceiling tiles will be provided by the VA. The vendor will need to, as they are putting in the new speakers, get the number off the back of the tiles of where the existing speakers are located and total count to us so we can have enough when they are removing the old speakers after the cut over to the new system. The speakers in the locations with non-drop ceilings will be left and the VA will do any removal of those. Question 11: Is any 'Fault Sensing' required? Answer 11: It would be nice for fault sensing, but not required. Question 12: It is my understanding that we are waiting on building and site plans in AutoCAD format. Answer 12: All available AutoCAD building and site plans have been provided to vendors. Question 13: It is my understanding that paging speakers will only be placed in common spaces with the exception of mechanical spaces (No private offices or patient rooms). Answer 13: Yes that is correct, no offices or patient rooms. And no conference rooms except the education conference room, in like cube city (room B609) that is considered a common area, and there will need to be one in the Biomed shop (B556), all large rooms that have people in them most of the time, like the network server room, inpatient and outpatient pharmacies, the areas that have speakers currently, I would say look at the CAD drawings and tell us if they need to have on there, then we can tell them the areas they don't have that we will want them. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
