Description
U.S. Army Contracting Command - APG, Natick Contracting Division, on behalf of the Program Manager Infantry Combat Equipment (PM ICE), has a requirement for approximately 1800 yards or knit and woven fabric for test and evaluation. The US Marines Corps seeks to improve/maximize the performance of the current flame resistant combat ensemble (FRCE) through the identification of materials that meet or exceed the current physical test requirements The Enhanced FRCE capability will increase the survivability and mobility of the individual Marine supporting the Overseas Contingency Operations (OCO), thus increasing the Marine's lethality in combat. In addition, increased durability will extend the FRCE wear life. The current flame resistant combat ensemble (FRCE) has durability issues in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). New flame resistant materials, with superior strength properties, and the same level of protection and comfort, have been identified through market research. The Government anticipates awarding one (1) Firm-Fixed Price Order to Burlington Industries, a large business located in Greensboro, NC. This order is being awarded to provide three Burlington fabrics (300 yards knit Type I, 300 yards knit type II, 1200 yards woven) for construction of test uniforms to be used as part of an upcoming Follow-on Field User Evaluation (FFUE). The North American Industry Classification System Identifier for this procurement is 315999; the Small Business Size Standard is 500 employees. Questions concerning this synopsis can be directed to Kevin Parker, Contract Specialist, at kevin.james.parker@us.army.mil.
