- USACE, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Contracting Office intends to issue a sole source award to United States Gypsum Company, 550 W Adams St, Chicago, IL, 60661-3665 for 1600 FORTOCRETE Armor panels. USG Corporation is currently the only vendor that manufactures these armor panels. The Government intends to procure from only one source under the authority of FAR 13.5, test program for commercial items (section 4202 of the Clinger-Cohen Act of 1996). This will be a commercial acquisition using simplified acquisition procedures per FAR 13. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation to the Contract Specialist by 12:00 PM CST, Monday, August 15 2011.
