Description
Scope of Work 1. Installation by Sanyo authorized technicians of: (1) Sanyo Condensing Unit; (16) Wall Mounted Units; (16) Sanyo Remote Controls; and (16) Sanyo Distribution Joint Kits. Sanyo Condensing Unit, Wall Mounted Unites, Remote Controls and Condensing Units will be supplied by the VA Hospital. 2.The contractor will refrigeration pipe one (1) condensing unit to 16 split wall mounted Sanyo split units. The units will be mounted and secured to the walls and all drains and plumbing of the drains will be done by the contractor. All refrigeration piping will be insulated and be silver brazed at the connections. Condensate pumps will be installed were required for proper draining as needed. The system will be pressure tested for 24 hours with nitrogen when all connections are completed. System will be evacuated and started up by the contractor. 3. All materials furnished and all work installed shall comply with codes, standards and recommendation of the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and the State of Connecticut Basic Building Code and the National Electric Code (NEC). 4. All work will be done in a first class manner according to the best trade practices and to the satisfaction of Roger Jansen, HVAC, Foreman. This person shall be referred to as the Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR). 5. Unless otherwise specified, new construction shall match existing. 6. All work shall be done between the hours of 8am to 4:30pm. Monday through Friday, except holidays unless other times are prearranged with the COTR. When the contractors work interferes with Hospital functions such as excessive noise, odors, dust, etc. that cannot be contained within the area of work, the contractor will schedule said work at other than normal hours and as directed by the COTR. 7.Upon completion of the project, and as required daily, all materials and debris shall be removed from the station. All materials of value removed from the project shall be turned over to the Government and shall be delivered to a storage site on station by the contractor. The COTR will determine which removed materials have value to the government and which materials shall be removed, off station, by the contractor and shall be disposed of in accordance with applicable State Environmental Protection Regulations. 8.The contractor shall guarantee all materials, equipment, and workmanship for a period of one year from date acceptance of the entire project. During the term of the guarantee the contractor shall repair or replace all defective material or equipment within 24 hour notice without additional cost to the government. Special instructions: 1.Due to warranty requirements installation must be performed by Sanyo authorized technicians. 2.Pricing does not include: Electrical; Cement Slab; or Setting of Condensing Unit. All electrical work will be performed by in-house electricians working alongside vendor AC technicians. 3.The specifications do not detail all existing structure utilities, or components that may interfere with the contract work required. The bidder shall not alter any obstruction, utility, or condition that may hinder or interfere with execution of the contract and will make provision within his bid accordingly. 3.4.All reallocations of utilities shall be approved by the COTR. 4.5.Parking is rigidly controlled throughout the Medical Center. Adequate parking is available north of Building #1. Parking of the contractor or employee vehicles in other than this area will result in said vehicles being towed, at the owner's expense, off the Medical Center Grounds. Time of completion: The contractor shall complete all work within 90 days after "Notice to proceed".
