- Description
- Amendment 3 is issued to provide answers to the following questions: 1. QUESTION: Can you define the cleaning of the machines requirement in paragraph C.5.3.1.2? Most specifically, does it require the contractor to clean the exterior of the machine(s) during preventive maintenance? Is the cleaning required only during the preventive maintenance? Is wet mopping required behind the machines? RESPONSE: As stated in C.5.3.1.2, the contractor shall be responsible for cleaning and removal of lint and other debris from behind all washers and dryers during services calls and while performing maintenance. The intent of this paragraph is to ensure all debris, lint etc has been removed during all service calls and while performing maintenance. Typically, a broom and trash bag is all that is required as lint can be removed without a wet mop, but mopping may be necessary. The exterior of the machines shall be wiped clean using whatever cleaner the manufacturer recommends. 2. QUESTION: How often is the cleaning (behind, between and beneath the dryers) expected to be done? RESPONSE: Any time a service is performed the contractor shall check behind and around machines and remove loose lint and any other debris. If trash is found, the COR shall be notified. Cleaning beneath and beside machines shall be performed as recommended by the machine manufacturer or as indicated by visual inspection. 3. QUESTION: Will the areas mentioned above be cleaned by the government prior installation of the new machines? RESPONSE: No. Contractor is required to ensure area is cleaned prior to installation of new machines. Any debris should be incidental to the installation. 4. QUESTION: Are all the dryer vents on fort to be cleaned every 6 months or just those with a "duct length (LF)" listed in the solicitation technical exhibit 2? RESPONSE: The buildings indicated with LF of duct are the ones with duct systems and are to be cleaned every 6 months. If additional cleaning is required, the Government may issue a T&M delivery order for cleaning or utilize another method of cleaning whichever is most beneficial to the Government. 5. QUESTION: The technical exhibit #2 has a list of machines that is quite different from the CLINS item numbers. Are we to use the CLINS numbers when submitting our response? RESPONSE: Refer to the revised bid schedule and Technical Exhibit 2 posted with Amendment 1 on 8 August 2011. The total quantities for each type of machine are reflected in both documents. Technical Exhibit 2 provides a breakdown of quantities by building location as well as additional information. Pricing shall be submitted in bid schedule format and in accordance with all documents applicable to this acquisition. 6. QUESTION: Will the dryer vents be cleaned at the time of installation or is the contractor expected to clean them at that time? RESPONSE: The contractor shall inspect all dryer duct systems at the time of installation and provide a condition report to the government.
