- DTFACT-08-C-00010 - Fly-By-Wire Research In accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration Acquisition Management System (FAA AMS) paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the FAA's intent to contract with Calspan Corporation, 4455 Genesee Street, Buffalo, NJ, 14225 using single source procedures. The government intends to increase the level of funding to the existing Fly-by-Wire research contract DTFACT-08-C-00010. The purpose of the funding increase is to conduct additional testing that is necessary to properly write the new Federal Aviation Regulations for transport category airplanes. This additional research will provide more thorough results and provide a better product to the government enabling the government to better serve the flying public. This additional research includes:1)Additional evaluation and analysis of active and passive control inceptor characteristics.2)Additional aircraft modeling 3)Additional evaluation and analysis of envelope protection algorithms4)Additional evaluation of manual control modes A competitive solicitation will not be available for this procurement.
