Description
NASA/ARC is hereby soliciting information about potential sources for customhigh-performance long-wave and mid-wave infrared interference filters. These filters areneeded for existing research-grade infrared cameras that are equipped with spinningfilter wheels for multi-spectral imaging. The mid-wave filters are needed for a camerathat operates in the 1.5 to 6 micron band, and the long-wave filters are needed for acamera that operates in the 6 to 12 micron band. Each filter wheel spins at rates up to200 Hz and has 8 filter positions. When all filter positions are filled with filters, small variations in filter weight, from filter to filter, can cause significant vibrationof the filter wheel and camera assembly. To maintain balance and prevent thesevibrations, we require that the filters of each respective band all be made using thesame substrate and fall within a close weight tolerance. We also require high performancewith maximum possible average transmission, 90% or greater, and steepest possible slope,2% or smaller.Delivery is required 12 weeks after award of contract. Please see attached for the complete Statement of Work.No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If asolicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA AcquisitionInternet Service. It is the potential offeror's responsibility to monitor these sitesfor the release of any solicitation or synopsis.Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements areinvited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references.NASA is seeking capabilities from all categories of Small Business (SB) for the purposeof determining the appropriate level of competition and/or SB subcontracting goals forthis requirement. This requirement is for a commercial product. The Government reserves the right to consider a small business or 8(a) set-aside based onresponses hereto.
