Description

The intent of this contract is for the installation of a Government furnished steel and timber pedestrian bridge approximately 73' long and 4' wide. Work includes removal of the existing long stringer bridge, concrete/CMU pier construction, steel and timber bridge construction, timber stairway, and approach embankment. All bridge material will be delivered to the Troublesome Campground around September15, 2012. The project is not in wilderness, but there are timing restrictions on the use of motorized equipment. The project is located at the Skykomish Ranger District on the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Take US Highway 2 East for 49 miles, turn North onto the Beckler Rd Road #65, proceed 16 miles to the junction with FSR 63, and continue 4 miles to the Troublesome Campground (on both sides of the creek). Follow the Lower Loop Trail upstream for 0.1 mile to the bridge location. The estimated issue date of the solicitation is on or about August 31, 2011. The estimated start work date is October 01, 2011 and shall be completed by November 30, 2012. The Government's estimate is between $25,000 and $100,000.
