- Sole Source Intent - W9124R-11-T-1063, The United States Army, Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) - Center Yuma Proving Ground intends to negotiate and award a firm-fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Leica Geosystems Inc., 5051 Peachtree Corners Circle, Ste 250, Norcross, GA 30092-3024. This requirement is for one (1) each upgrade to a Geodetic Global Positioning System (GPS)/Global Navigation Satellite Systems(GNSS) at the U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground (USAYPG), Arizona. The USAYPG is currently operating several GPS/GNSS 1200 RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) surveying and SpiderNet reference station systems, Zeno 15 mapping systems, optical mechanical theodolites, electronic theodolites, TPS 700, 800 and 1200 Total Station systems, controllers, data link radios, precision modular Electronic Distance Measurement (EDM)s, digital levels, alignment lasers, processing and surveying software, and an array of support accessories (batteries, chargers, cables, tripods, and tribachs) built by Leica Geosystems Inc. All of the major devices consisting of GPS/GNSS, total Stations, controllers, and data links, to include support components, are interchangeable and the field-to-finish workflow architecture of field data acquisition, processing, management is fully integrated across systems of protocols, formats, firmware, real-time and post processing software. The upgraded system, to be completed under the current requirement, must be fully compliant with the USAYPG's current surveying, mapping and software systems manufactured by Leica Geosystems, Inc. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334511 with a size standard of 750 employees. This will be a commercial acquisition using simplified acquisition procedures for commercial items per FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13, FAC 2005-53, effective 05 Jul 2011. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES OR PROPOSALS. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If you believe your firm possesses the ability to provide this requirement, you must respond by demonstrating your firm's technical capability to meet these requirements by 5:00 PM MST, 25August2011.
