Description
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a requirement for Equine Vaccines from October 1, 2011 through September 30, 2012, with an option for performance from October 1, 2012 through September 30, 2013. The contract will provide the following or comparable vaccines, primarily to BLM facilities in the Western U.S., to be administered by injection to wild horses and burros: West Nile Virus Vaccine, 320 to 8,000 ten dose vials; Fluvac Innovator EHV-4/1 or Prestige II w/ Havlogen, 200 to 2,500 ten dose vials; Fluvac Innovator 5 or Prestige V with Havlogen, 320 to 8,000 ten dose vials; Strepvax II, 320 to 8,000 ten dose vials; Imrab Bovine Plus, 640 to 3,200 twenty-five dose vials; Encevac-T w/ Havlogen, 200 to 2,500 ten dose vials; Liquid Ivermectin Horse Wormer, 200 to 6,000 100ml bottles; 1% Injectable Ivermectin, 100 to 1,200 500ml bottles; Metal Wormer Dosing Gun, 20 to 200. The contract(s) will provide vaccine to be administered by injection and the de-wormer by oral delivery to all wild horse and burros that are removed. Vaccine will stimulate a protective immune response in naïve horses and burros. Vaccines will either need to be preloaded in syringes or need to be prepared for injection without mixing or other labor intensive or special handling requirements. Vaccines will need to be administered safely, quickly and easily to the wild horses and burro, in a variety of field situations. Vaccines will need to remain effective for at least 72 hours after being prepared for injection. Vaccines and de-wormer need to be able to be administered in all types of weather, rain, snow, cold, heat, and sunlight without any adverse effects on safety or efficacy. Vaccines will be available in multi-dose vials or preloaded into syringes. Solicitation L11PS01171 will be available on or about August 16, 2011.
