Attached are the questions and answers from the Industry Day. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AFRL BATTLESPACE ENVIRONMENT DIVISION SPACE SITUATIONAL AWARENESS ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORING (SSAEM), VELOCITY, ION, DENSITY AND IRREGULARITIES (VIDI) SENSOR INDUSTRY DAY 11 August 2011 On Thursday, August 11, 2011, an Industry Day will take place at the Phillips Technical Institute (PTi) Collaboration Center, Building 1902, located on Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico. Industry Day is sponsored by the Air Force Research Laboratory Battlespace Environment Division and will offer interested parties information on the recently released Request for Information, FA9453-11-R-0299, Market Research Survey for Velocity, Ion, Density and Irregularities (VIDI) Research and Development (posted to www.FedBizOpps.gov on 1 June 2011). A Request for Proposal (RFP) is anticipated to be released in the Fall 2011. The RFP will focus on providing as many as seven (7) space qualified Velocity, Ion Density and Irregularities (VIDI) sensor payloads leveraging government-owned designs that would be integrated, tested and flown as stand-alone payloads on the low-inclination portion of the COSMIC II satellite constellation in support of the Space Situational Awareness Environmental Monitoring (SSAEM) program at SMC/WM. This capability is needed to predict the development of equatorial plasma irregularities. All potential bidders are strongly encouraged to attend. This half-day event will begin at 0800 hours (MST) and wrap up by 1200 hours (MST). The afternoon is available for 30 minute breakout sessions that will be scheduled in order of response received to attend the event.
