- VA-797-11-RI-XXXX REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) FOR STERILIZATION (CSR) WRAP, SINGLE SEQUENTIAL TYPE RFI Closes September 2, 2011, No Later Than 3:00pm, Central Standard Time The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA National Acquisition Center (NAC) intends to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Sterilization (CSR) Wrap, Single Sequential Type. VA NAC wishes to learn if there are customary commercial practices in the market place regarding the specifications and packaging of Sterilization (CSR) Wrap, Single Sequential Type. This is an effort to ensure the specifications are not overly restrictive or unreasonable. Please submit any product literature/brochures describing your firm's ability interest to provide these items. Please submit responses to the Contract Specialist listed below. Karla S. Benson, Contract Specialist VA National Acquisition Center (001AL-A2-3C-MS) 1st Ave., 1Block North of Cermak Road PO Box 76, Bldg 37 Hines, IL. 60141 (708) 786-5855 Phone (708) 786-5256 FAX Karla.benson2@va.gov Product Line: Sterilization (CSR) Wrap, Single Sequential Type 1.Non-woven fabric 2.Barrier Effectiveness for Fluids: meets ASTM F1670-08 3.Barrier Effectiveness for blood-borne pathogens: meets ASTM f1671-07 4.Durability (Trapezoidal Tear Test): meets INDA IST 160.1 (01) 5.Low Lint: Meets ASTM F50-83 or Gelbo Flex Lint Test, INDA 1ST 160.1 (01) 6.Strength (Tensile Strength): Meets ASTM 5034-09 7.Allows for penetration of sterilization process from Steam, ETO, and plasma gas 8.Single Sheet for sequential, not double, wrapping 9.Available sizes must include: 24"x24" 36"x36" 45"x45" 48"x48" 54"x54" (plus or minus 0.5 inch for all sizes); team will evaluate 24"x24", 36"36" and 54"x54" sizes by measuring them to endure they meet size tolerances. 10.Must have light, medium, or heavy-duty strengths based on industry standards by sizes. Evaluation Factors: 1.Observe wrap for integrity before wrapping 2.Memory Free 3.Wrap must support weight as designated by manufacturer 4.Wrap remains intact after sterilization 5.No moisture inside or outside of package after sterilization (simulated use); Note: Actions done by SPD technicians will be done following standard SPD procedures and guidelines with 3 IPT members observing. All the evaluation factors will apply to a 17-pound instrument tray using a 54"x54" wrap and to a full set of osteotomes using a 36"x36" Wrap.
