Description: The VA Medical Center, Syracuse, NY intends to negotiate a sole source, firm fixed price contract with Mizuho OSI, Inc. to provide a Jackson Table System as needed to perform a variety of spinal surgeries to allow patient positioning in supine, prone, lateral positions in a safe manner. NAICS code is 339112 and the size standard is 500 employees. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with Parts 12, 13, or 15 of the FAR or some combination thereof. To the best of our knowledge, Mizuho OSI is the only company who can provide these services. Specifications of the table: Height Range: 27" - 48" Trendelenberg/Reverse Trendelenberg: 10? Lateral Tilt: 25? Jackson Top Width: 17" Imaging Top Width: 21 ˝" Jackson and Imaging Top Length: 84" Patient Weight Capacity: 500 lbs. Unrestricted C-arm access - A/P, lateral and oblique views intraoperatively. As there is no central table support like in float top tables it is really easy to navigate the C arm under the table. It is possible to place the patient supine position and then flip the patient on the table by 'sandwich technique'. This protects the patient from any neurological damage by keeping the spine stable during the flip. The Jackson table for prone positioning allows the abdomen to hang entirely free of any pressure. This reduces blood loss and pressure related issues, especially in patients with a large belly. Rotational Capability 360 ° - table top rotation allows spinal fusions without the need for patient repositioning. When anterior fusion is complete, patient can be rotated 180 ° for surgical access to posterior spine. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer by 2:00 pm, EST, 08/23/2011 to STEVE.TOMPKINS@VA.GOV. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirement. Information can be emailed to the Contracting Officer. Responses received will be evaluated; however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
