Description

Notice of Intent: The Baltimore VAMHCS, located at 10 N. Greene Street, Baltimore Maryland 21201, VISN 5, in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements), intends to negotiate on a sole source basis an award with Medtronic, Inc., for the procurement of the Urchin Package and Octopus Evolution As Tissue Stabilizer. This equipment is needed for all open heart cases scheduled for the month of August. This is an emergency situation due to the number of cases projected for this month and the lack of enough packages to adequately perform the duties and responsibilities to our veterans. The NAICS code 339113 applies. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or a request for offerors. No solicitation package is available at this time. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must be received no later than 12:00 PM (EST) on August 18th. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. Responses must be mailed to: VA Maryland Healthcare System, Attn: Rodney Jackson (Annex 610), Contract Specialist, 10 N Greene Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.
