Description
*****CONTACT JANET APPLETON (ARCS) ONLY FOR OFFERS OR QUESTIONS. CONTACTINFORMATION CAN BE FOUND WITHIN THE BODY OF THIS NOTICE*****THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THECOMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR INDUCTION POWERSUPPLY. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice servesas the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not beissued. The purpose of this amendment is to extend the due date for question until 9/6/2011 12:00p.m. CST and to answer the following question:QUESTION1. In the water cooling system requirement, we have a question with the statement 'apallet mounted water to water cooling system capable of removing the entire amount ofheat from the system is required during continuous operation for 8 hours.' Is 'thesystem' the power supply, heat station, and coil, or does this include other coolingrequirements? If yes, what are they and how much heat removal?ANSWERThe cooling system must be able to remove all the heat produced, including that deliveredto the piece being heated, that resulting from parasitic heating of nearby structures, etc. In other words, if the induction heater is a 1.2 MW unit, then the cooling systemmust be rated such that it can remove a minimum of 1.2 MW of heat. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended and shall remain on 9/12/2011.Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASAAcquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on 8/19/2011.
