Description

GUARDIAN ANGEL Program, The CYPRES Automatic Activation DEVICE (AAD) Aeronautical Systems Center (ASC) intends to acquire (182) Cybernetic parachute release systems. This is a highly specialized parachute release latch needed to conduct rescue missions within the U.S. and world wide. In this specific instance these CYPRESS units will be procured in support of the SOV3-HH parachutes currently in the field and used by Air Combat Command (ACC). It is necessary for the customer to have the same AAD for all parachute systems in order to shrink the logistics footorint, lessen necessary training, and provide for interoperability and maintainablilty among the users in ACC. The Cypress system is patented through Airtec GmbH & Co Safety Systems is the maufacturer and holds a patent on this product. SSK Military Industries Inc 1008 Monroe Rd Lebanon, Ohio is the exclusive authorized distributor for all U.S. Military Cypress Sales, Service, Training, and Support all parachute systems. SSK is the only firm capable of providing the supplies described without the AirForce experiencing susbastantial duplication of cost that could not be expected to be recovered through competition and unacceptable delays in fulfilling its requirement. The GSA multiple award schedule will be used for this procurement.
