- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevenion is soliciting vendors to provide the following. This requirement shall be awarded on a fixed price purchase order. Solicitation is below. No other solicitation will be provided. Introduction: The contractor shall furnish the necessary services or supplies to accomplish the work described herein for Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Infectious Diseases (OID), National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD),Division of Viral Diseases (DVD), Gastroenteritis and Respiratory Viruses Lab Branch (GRVLB), herein referred to as Client. Background: The Division of Viral Diseases (DVD) mission is to prevent disease, disability, and death from respiratory and enteric viral diseases through immunization and other prevention measures. Objective: This objective of this requirement is as follows: Human respiratory syncytial virus (hRSV) and human parainfluenza viruses (hPIVs) are important respiratory pathogens, affecting people of all ages. Rapid, comprehensive viral antigen based serologic assay would augment molecular testing for determination of acute infection and facilitate seroprevalence studies and measurement of vaccine response. We recently developed a panel of recombinant His-tagged nucleocapsid (rec-N) proteins for hRSV, and hPIV-1/2/3/ in a baculovirus expression system that allows production of large quantities of purified recombinant antigen that retains full immunogenicity. We plan to use the four recombinant viral proteins to develop multi-pathogen detection system based on a smaller, faster, low cost, field deployable version of Luminex LED-based xMAP Analyzer (MagPix). Scope: To develop such multi-pathogen detection system, we need highly purified viral antigen. These recombinant viral antigens are difficult to purify, because they are insoluble and easy to aggregate in low-salt buffer, and the Contractor's expertise on purification of Baculovirus expressed protein will make sure the prepared viral antigens will meet the requirement both in quality and quantity. Performance Requirements: The goal of these tasks are to obtain minimal 1mg of highly purified recombinant viral protein from 5 liter of insect cell culture for hRSV-N, hPIV1-N, hPIV2-N and hPIV3-N respectively. Performance Criteria Matrix: Contractor performance under this task order will generally be measured in accordance with Performance Criteria Matrix below. * Deliverable or Required Services (1): Purified hRSV-N. Performance Standard(s) (2): Delivery dates are met. Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) (3): 95% Acceptability Standard in accordance with task order requirements. Method Surveillance (4): Client feedback; Client review. * Deliverable or Required Services (1): Purified hPIV1-N. Performance Standard(s) (2): Delivery dates are met. Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) (3): 95% Acceptability Standard in accordance with task order requirements. Method Surveillance (4): Client feedback; Client review. * Deliverable or Required Services (1): Purified hPIV2-N. Performance Standard(s) (2): Delivery dates are met. Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) (3): 95% Acceptability Standard in accordance with task order requirements. Method Surveillance (4): Client review; Client feedback. * Deliverable or Required Services (1): Purified hPIV3-N. Performance Standard(s) (2): Delivery dates are met. Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) (3): 95% Acceptability Standard in accordance with task order requirements. Method Surveillance (4): Client feedback; Client review. Deliverables: The following lists the items to be delivered during the period of performance, as well as the calendar days from the date of purchase order award to complete/submit each deliverable. Start and end dates for each deliverable will be contingent of the purchase order award date. * Purified hRSV-N: Due 60 days after award of purchase order. * Purified hPIV1-N: Due 120 days after award of purchase order. * Purified hPIV2-N: Due 180 days after award of purchase order * Purified hPIV3-N: Due 240 days after award of purchase order Proposals and questions should be directed to the purchasing agent.
