Description
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City, Panama City, Florida intends to solicit Airborne Systems North America of CA Incorporated, 3701 Warner Avenue, Santa Ana, CA 92704-5218 for the acquisition of MC-7 Parachute Pack and support equipment. The following items are being acquired. Quick Connects, BRS, 1/8 (part number 601214-2) Aneroid, SSt, 700 x 50, B11507-1 (part number 603355-0) MC-7 Riser Assembly, Main Canopy(part number 11-1-7271-1) MC-7 Main Pack Tray(part number 11-1-7090-1) MC-7 Riser Release Cover Set(part number 11-1-7792-1) Canopy Release Lug(part number 11-1-7214-1) Three Ring Release Fabric Loop(part number 11-1-7068-1) Reserve Pack Tray Assembly T-11 R(part number 11-1-7055-1) MC-7 Harness Assembly(part number 11-1-7053-1) Connector Link(part number PS22002-1) This procurement is sole source for the following reasons. The items can only be acquired from Airborne Systems of North America of CA by direction of the Marine Corp Systems Command (MARCORPSYSCOM). The MC-7 parachute system forms a highly specialized airborne delivery system which has undergone extensive testing and qualification under the MARCORPSYSCOM Parachuting Authority. Each part has been tested to perform to rigid requirements. Only those articles which have been successfully tested are qualified. The objective of this process is to verify that the system provides acceptable levels of safety and mission critical support throughout the system specific operating range. Airborne Systems North America of CA Incorporated is the designer, developer, original fabricator, and sole provider of the MC-7 Parachute System. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
