- W91ZLK-11-T-0401 This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE to Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory (MAC) for Curation of Artifacts. CLIN 0001 Curation of Artifacts - 91 Archival Boxes of Artifacts, including prehistoric remains. These artifacts range in age from 19th century manufactured items to prehistoric items of varied material. The United States Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Aberdeen Installation Contracting Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD intends to negotiate solely (as prescribed in FAR 6.302-1) with the Maryland Archeological Conservation Laboratory (MAC), Jefferson Patterson Park Museum, Maryland Historical Trust, 10515 Mackall Road, St Leonard, MD 20685. The contractor shall provide curatorial services for 91 archival boxes of artifacts which range in age from the 19th century manufactured items to prehistoric items of varied materials, including prehistoric remains recovered by Aberdeen Proving Ground. Curation must meet the standards set forth in 36 CFR 79, the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, AR420-40, AR 2002, the National Environmental Policy Act, COMAR subtitle 08, 05.08.06, the Archaeological Resources Protection Act of 1979, the American Indian Religious Freedom Act and the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act. Due to the volume of the collections, the state of Maryland warranted implementation of a partnership in that state. The Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory is the only facility in the state of Maryland for curation of federally owned and administered archeological collections for customers of Fort Meade, Fort Dietrich, Adelphi Labs, Patuxent River Joint Air Station, the US Coast Guard and the military District of Washington. No equivalent facility exists within the state. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for the requirement is 712120 and the size standard is $7.0 million. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability in writing to the Government point of contact. Responses to this notice must be received no later than 2:00 PM Eastern Time, Monday, September 12, 2011. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation of offers.
