Description
The U.S Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, has the need for a Geneious Server. This server must include a parallel processing platform for offloading computationally intensive operations including Next Generation Sequence assemblies with a broad suite of bioinformatic algorithms such as properly configured and updated versions of Velvet, Maq, BWA, and Bowtie and genome alignment tools such as Lastz and MUAVE in a seamless integration. This platform must interface seamlessly with Geneious Pro, software that we presently own and use on desktop PCs to process less demanding datasets. The package must contain an assembler specifically designed for assembling large contigs of sequence data with attributes such as hybrid data support and fine tuning, including fine tuning of other assembler files; we require advanced SNP calling capabilities able to handle large contig and raw read files through a Graphic User Interface. In addition, this system must support phylogenetic analyses using PAUP, be extended via a public API to third-party plugins, implement automated searches and retrieval (as directed) of data from public databases such as NCBI, must facilitate secure collaboration and file sharing, and include education tutorials. USDA/ARS requires Geneious Server "Group Package" that includes a 3 year subscription for: 1 Geneious Server Base, 1 NGS Assembly Module, 1 Phylogenetics module, 1 Sequence Analysis Module, and 5 Geneious Server Access Licenses. The U.S Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service, intends to issue a sole source award to Biomatters, PO Box 5677, Wellesley St., Auckland 1141, New Zealand. Biomatters is the sole manufacturer and distributor of Geneious Server, a bioinformatics platform which can extend into a parallel computing environment with database tools.
