Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, New Mexico VA Healthcare System (NMVAHCS) intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract to Kroll Ontrack, Inc DBA Ontrack Data Recovery, Inc.. Kroll Ontrack, Inc DBA Ontrack Data Recovery, Inc. provides an in-depth expedited data recovery service that is the only commercially available service that the Government has found able to meet its requirements. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 518210 and the business size standard is $25 million. The Government's requirement and minimum needs are as follows: data: There are a total of 7 RAID 5 arrays, 2 that contained data and required rebuilding One RAID has a failed drive which could not be used due to mechanical/physical failures; Awarded Contractor will need to use proprietary tools to rebuild the array with failed hardware The NT native drive spanning is corrupted and requires rebuilding Correction of the corruption in the NT File System structures Check the file listing reports to verify the files and folders needed Recovery of NTFS has 1,810,097 files (3.19 TB) Recovery Plan: Contractor will virtually reassemble the individual RAID/s, the proprietary EMC MetaLUN/s, and virtually rebuild the logical NTFS volume, then scan and virtually repair additional logical errors, finally extracting as much data as possible to an NTFS destination Contractor will provide new media for use as a NTFS destination. Analysis and recovery must occur within 30 days ARO All responses received by the due date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested parties may respond to this notice no later than 5:00 pm, Eastern Standard Time, September 9, 2011. Any response to this Notice must show clear and convincing evidence that the respondent manufactures a product that fully meets the above stated needs and thus that competition for this product would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
