- Description
- Solicitation SB1341-11-RQ-0709 Solicitation SB1341-11-RQ-0709 Applicable Provisions and Clauses THIS IS A COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION FOR COMMERCIAL ITEMS PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FORMAT IN FAR SUBPART 12.6, AS SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION INCLUDED IN THIS NOTICE. FAR PART 13, SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION PROCEDURES, ARE UTILIZED IN THIS PROCUREMENT. THIS ANNOUCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; QUOTATIONS ARE BEING REQUESTED, AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED. This solicitation is a request for quotation. The solicitation document incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 2005-53. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 423430- Computer and Computer Peripheral Equipment and Software Merchant Wholesalers. This requirement will be competed as a Total Small Business set aside under the corresponding size standard of 100 employees. The Government anticipates the award of a firm-fixed-price purchase order to the offeror that offers the best value to the Government using the Lowest-Priced, Technically Acceptable method. All Offerors must be authorized resellers/business partners of Dell. This solicitation is a re-compete of a previously cancelled solicitation (SB1341-11-RQ-0463). Solicitation number SB1341-11-RQ-0463 was cancelled because there were no technically acceptable quotations submitted within NIST's budget. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Digital Data Preservation project has a requirement for a multi-channel high performance controller for fiber channel, iSCSI (Internet Small Computer System Interface), and future expandable Network Area Storage (NAS) disk storage for existing Dell servers (R410 and R610). The Dell Compellent solution offers up to two controller configurations with an 8 Gb fiber channel, and up to 10 iSCSI with SAN expansion for block-based data transfer for fast search and retrieval of multimedia content. For future needs, this unit can be expanded to include NAS to support pure NFS or mixed CIFS/NFS environments. NIST's requirement is for Dell brand name products in accordance with the schedule of required items in the attached document "Solicitation SB1341-11-RQ-0709." All quotations shall be submitted electronically so that they are received at keith.bubar@nist.gov no later than September 8, 2011 at 12:00 pm EST. All questions regarding this solicitation shall be submitted electronically to keith.bubar@nist.gov, referencing Solicitation number SB1341-11-RQ-0709. Please see attached PDF document entitled "Solicitation SB1341-11-RQ-0709" for all pertinent details for this solicitation, and attachment "Solicitation SB1341-11-RQ-0709 Applicable Provisions and Clauses" for all applicable provisions and clauses for this solicitation.
