- The National Science Foundation (NSF) intends to make award on a sole source basis to VSEE Lab, Inc. 3188 Kimlee Dr. Suite 100 San Jose, CA 95132-3604 for license renewal for one year for 275 users. VSEE is a service that provides low bandwidth capable videoconferencing and informal collaborative tools that provides video and collaborative enhancements for virtual panel and other meetings and teleworkers. The agency saves significant travel dollars by utilizing virtual technologies. This technology will continue to allow NSF remote users who do not have top of the line videoconferencing capabilities available to them to attend panels and other meetings. NSF Teleworkers using this technology will continue to be able to participate more fully in meetings. Teleworkers and remote users would no longer be the forgotten person on the telephone, but will be more engaged and active in meeting discussions. The service shall include: • Unlimited guest calling for registered users • 30 floating licenses that can be used by NSF remote participants such as panelists who are not on the NSF LAN • VSEE full scale deployment and off-site hosting • All software upgrades • Final deployment and maintenance of the NSF web portal and training tutorial videos, user instructions and frequently asked questions (FAQ's) to simplify deployment, training and technology use • Live support for every NSF panel via telephone and VSEE connection during the panel - including setting up the users before each panel NSF will consider written responses received no later than 11:00 a.m. (est.) on September 8, 2011. Responses must include sufficient evidence that clearly shows the vendor is capable of providing the requested licenses. If no written response is received will clearly demonstrates an ability to meet all requirements, is more advantageous to the Government, and is received by the aforementioned deadline, NSF shall make award on a sole source basis to VSEE after the official closing date of Sept. 12, 2011. Inquiries to this Special Notice shall be addressed in writing diharris@nsf.gov Qualified contractors must provide the following: 1. The name and location of your company, contact information, and identify your business size (Large Business, Small Business, Disadvantaged Business, 8(a), Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, HubZone, etc). Please ensure contact information includes the name of the point of contact, email address, and telephone number should the Government have questions regarding individual responses. 2. Whether your services are available thru Government contract vehicle or Open Market. 3. A brief capabilities statement (not to exceed 5 pages) that includes a description of your company's standard line of business, as well as a list of customers your company currently provides these products/services for. 4. Contractors should provide their DUNS number.
