- Description
- The COAC Services Branch, Office of Acquisitions, DERA, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), NIH, for the Imaging Probe Development Center (IPDC) intends to procure Biotage brand name item listed below: This requirement is under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 333911 Pump and Pumping Equipment Manufacturing, Size Standard is 500 employees. The Small Business Set-Asides does apply for this requirement. Solicitation Notice No.: NHLBI-CSB-(HL)-2011-346-DDC The Imaging Probe Development Center is a state-of the -art synthetic chemistry core facility dedicated to the production of novel imaging agents for the entire NIH community. The primary of IPDC is to expedite basic and translational research across all imaging modalities. IPDC has synthesized diverse chemical compositions including sophisticated and complex analogs of small drug-like molecules, precursors for radio labeling, dyes, carbohydrates, polymers, dendrimers, lipid formulations and nanoparticles. With such a diverse range of compositions HPLC purification is often the method of choice for isolation of pure compounds. However, HPLC purification, particularly on a semi-preparative and preparative scale, generates a large volume of solvents difficult to remove on ordinary evaporator systems. Supplying the IPDC with Biotage V-10 evaporation system brand will allow the Center to facilitate several aspects of products preparation and purification. Currently the Center is in need of efficient evaporation system such as the Biotage V-10 evaporator. Requirements for V-10 solvent evaporation system: The Biotage V-10 TM system was created based on customer input regarding preferred system control, operation, and features. The V-10 uses patented three-way drying (high-speed vial rotation (vortexing), uniform heating, and vacuum), allows unattended operation, dries high boiling solvents quickly (up to 20x faster than the best centrifugal evaporators), and supports green chemistry by capturing up to 98% of the generated solvent vapors. The main features built into the patented system include: 1. Rapid three-way drying (high-speed vial rotation, uniform heating, vacuum) 2. Scalable from milligrams to grams without changing process conditions 3. Bump-free evaporation 4. Automatic, end-of-run detection 5. Precise temperature control 6. Captures up to 98% of solvent vapors 7. Touch pad operation with pre-programmed and user-configurable methods 8. Built-in, solvent-resistant vacuum pump and refrigerated condenser 9. Network compatible 10. Compact footprint 11. Can be automated to work with Gilson liquid handlers 12. dries several fractions directly into one vial The brand name determination is based on the Government's requirement of a specialized and V-10's versatility enables evaporation of single samples (up to 12 mL) or large pooled volumes using V-10 peristaltic pump. Adding the automated vial loading/changing carousel enables unattended evaporation of up to 16 samples. Using the V-10 Control Center software is possible to integrate the system with a liquid handling robot, combine multiple fractions/samples from different test tube racks and dry them into a single vial in one operation. In addition, the bump-free vortex evaporation design prevents sample loss while the system's precise temperature control eliminates sample overheating. The sample recovery is then maximized with the V-10's automatic, end-of-run detection. The Biotage V-10 evaporation system wills all the IPDC to facilitate several aspects of products preparation and purification. This acquisition is being conducted using simplified acquisition procedures. Interested vendors capable of furnishing the government with the product in this announcement should submit a quotation to the below address. The quotation shall include the itemized price, commercial price list, prompt payment terms, F.O.B. Point (Destination or Origin) Shipping cost, if applicable, descriptive literature of the product quoted, installation of the system, business size, Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUNs), and ORCA be must current. The Offeror must also register in the Government's Registry System: www.ccr.gov. The quotation is due five (5) calendar days from the publication date of this synopsis, or September 11 2011, by 7:30 a.m. eastern time, whichever is later. The proposal must reference "Solicitation number" NHLBI-CSB-(HL)-2011-346-DDC. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which if timely received shall be considered by the agency. Proposals must be submitted in writing to the COAC Services Branch, Office of Acquisitions, DERA NHLBI, 6701 Rockledge Blvd., Room 6042, Bethesda, Maryland 20892-7902, Attention Deborah Coulter. Response may be submitted electronically to coulterd@nhlbi.nih.gov, fax are not accepted. Responses will only be accepted if dated and signed by an authorized company representative.
